Interlining

Definition

An operational procedure where two or more routes that share at least one terminal are operationally combined, with vehicles and operators shared across them on one schedule.

Interlining is used as a method for public transport agencies and service providers to reduce costs, particularly where some lower frequency routes end up having prolonged layover times.
